Canada Post Red Dot Campaign

Hey Everyone,

 http://reddotcampaign.ca/

I heard about this on the CBC and I'm surprised it isn't more widely known ~ apparently its been available for several years.  Canada Post has a wesbsite you can go to to remove your address from advertisers' mailing lists.  Canada Post claims they will respect your wishes if you put up a note that says "No Flyers Please", although ad-mail addressed to a name in the household is usually still delivered. This website has a link to the Canadian Marketing Association's Do Not Contact Registry, with a form that I assume will remove your name from some national admail list.  There's also a letter to download, sign and give to your letter carrier (no envelope required) to further your request to eliminate junk mail from Canada Post.  read more »

Ride share?

My best friend recently moved to Toronto, and I'm hoping to visit her as much as possible.

It never usually works out for me, but I'm always hoping to find someone driving up or returning to TO when I'm looking to go....  I expect there are lots of you that are in the same position, or in the one of driving places with empty passenger seats.

Do you think we could start a Rideshare section on this site?

The Sprockettes... can we do this in London, PLEASE?

This is the hottest thing ive ever seen pictures of.

The Sprockettes are a bike/dance troup in Portland Oregon, i read about them in Bust Magazine and then looked them up online.  They do choreographed dance numbers on lowrider bikes, dressed in black and hot pink.  its like art school and critical mass got married.  I would DIE to do this in London, but I have no idea where to start.  Anyone else interested??

Paintings and Drawings: New work by Jennifer Robertson and Rob Doelle

Hey everyone, I'm having a little show at The Art Exchange, for the second half of July.  I'm going to be showing a large chunk of my work from the last year and half.  Its pretty exciting, to finally see it all up on the wall, framed and together. If you're interested, I'd love it if you'd come and check it out.  Theres going to be an Opening Reception on Friday July 20, from 7:30 to 9:30ish, but if you can't make it to that, the show runs July 16 - 28.  Gallery hours are Mon-Fri 10-5:30, Sat 10-5pm.  I'm showing with Rob Doelle as well, and his work is really great.... he was part of the Antlers and Rivers Collective, they were showing about a year ago, you may have seen his work at the Keaton.  read more »

Bike Helmets?

tags:

I'm thinking about Spring... i know its wishful thinking, but i'm yearning to ride my bike again free of ice and snow.

I know someone was going to contact the company that made the helmet that saved Mitch's life when he was hit.  Has there been any word from them?  Would they be willing to offer discounts if we made a bulk purchase? or are they interested in sponsoring a critical mass ride?  Just looking for an update....
