event posting

um... is it just me and my lack of technical savvy, or is there no way to add events? i've been browsing through the site for a while to no avail. shouldn't there be a link either from the Events page or from the Organize bar such as "Post Event": something along the lines of "Start a Forum Topic" or "Write a Blog"?

post an event

you must have missed it.. its in the organize dropdown, the very top one in fact called "post an event". I just tried it, and its there..

EDIT - I copied the event you had in a blog to an event post.. and I'll add a link under the events calendar page that says "add a new event" the next time we have a work session (probably thursday/friday). maybe all content types could have something similar, which would be handy.. thanks for the idea :)

that was our fault

It was actually our fault that you couldn't find where to post events. There was a permissions bug that was prevernting users from seeing the menu option to post and event. It's in the "Organize" menu and should be accessible by everyone now.
