Carbon Counted
This is a labelling insinuative, similar to Fair-trade labelling, aims to hi-light the carbon footprint involved in bringing a given product to market. right now there's only a handful of companies signed on, but it will be interesting to see how the concept catches on. This particular organisation seems to be based in Toronto.

      
Beach Solar Laundromat
I came across this on the Carbon Counted page. Solar powered laundromat? I thought that was a great idea! This one uses solar power to heat the water used in the laundromat, the apartment above and for the heating in the building.  This particular laundromat is in the Beaches neighbourhood in Toronto. We could use something like that here!  Their website also has a laundry-cam! It looks like they still draw they're electricity off the grid though...
