Suggestions for the layout of the site
I have noticed there are suggestions, questions and concerns also scattered all over the London Commons concerning the layout of the site. It might be beneficial to organise those thoughts/discussions into one area.
Although there are all kinds of great ideas and suggestions that have been made, I would like to point out there are many limitations to the current version of Drupal we are using (I don't really understand the details myself). From what I understand, the next version will offer far more in terms of options for layout and design.
In addition, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Jeremy for all of his hard work on this site. He is still the only administrator which seems like a substantial amount of work and, at times, stress. Thanks man.
Jeff

Suggestion
I'm not sure if this is possible or not...
I guess it all depends upon the schema of the underlying database behind this site....
I think it'd be a good idea to have a section on the site that would essentially show only creative works that have been published to this site. (If there is such a feature already, you'll have to forgive me as I have yet to find it. )
I'm envisioning a query of sorts ... for anything that has a CC license attached to it. Perhaps even being able to narrow the results down further by criteria such as style/genre or even license attributes such as remixability.

Hey Jeremy
I found this environmental blog that would be a great rss feed. The site kicks off in February 2007.
Green Options
"When our site goes live in February, you'll find a constantly-updated blog featuring some of the green blogosphere's best writers, a green living wiki with a wide range of practical information, a central news page for green stories from around the globe, discussion forums to share your own green practices and insights, and tools to help you make the jump to solar energy (and eventually other technologies) for your home or business."
Thank-you
Jeff

links to sections and areas
I just turned on a couple of blocks for the right side-bar: Section and Area. They provide links to the different sections and areas that people can post to on the site.
These can be disabled with the flip of a switch if anyone has a problem with them. It's also very simple to move the blocks on the side bar up and down. I made recent comments the first thing under upcoming events because it seems that many people use it to navigate the site.
Users can also disable most blocks (or enabled plenty of others) in their account settings.
Most of these links (the ones for the sections) used to be displayed up top on every page. Before these blocks were activated, the only way to reach the section and area categories was to click on the tags on individual posts.
Please provide feedback.
Jeremy
