Critical Mass Inquiries
I have had a few inquiries about having Critical Mass rides in winter. If there is the energy for it- GREAT!
Here is a question from the London Activist's Network list today.

I was disappointed today to find that no one but me showed up for Critical Mass! I saw several other cyclists on my ride to and from Victoria park, but sadly, I didn't see any other "massers". If we're going to show people that the bicycle really is a viable alternative to the car, should we really let a little snow hold us back?
Please accept my sincere apologies if I missed anyone - or if I got the time wrong. Do we not meet at 6:00 pm in Victoria Park on the last Friday of every month? Perhaps it would be a good idea to send a reminder out on the LAN a few days before each ride (I am willing to do this in
the future).

Critical Mass is NOT supposed to be organized by any one particular person.
It is a gathering of cyclists.
Despite this- it tends to be the same few people ( randomly taking turns) trying to get people out for Critical Mass each month.
For years now, I organize it for a few months ( October /06) and then not for a while.
I promoted November 06, but could not show myself and asked people of they would show in December - NOT !!!
It is almost impossible to get even the hardiest cyclists to show in the depths of winter. It is somewhat easier in "season".
If you want to take this on- GO FOR IT!!
Just read some of the Critical Mass websites so you have a sense of what it is about.
Around April, May, June- I don't mind giving it an effort to organize.
We have tried to advertize by LAN, London Commons, bike store posters, networking with other groups and cards/book marks on parked bikes.
In London- the usual time is 6:30pm last FRI of month- Victoria Park Bandshell

CMing
so i went to the bandshell for 630 on the 29th of september but there was no massing that i could see, and it wasnt raining nor that cold. does it usually start at 600? the first CM i participated in was the one in vancouver and i was hoping to get ride in the ones here in my hometown. i would definately be willing to put some flyers up around western and fanshawe campuses and their residences. the traffic in london is becoming ridiculous and im sure im not the only one noticing this. time for another critical mass
The weather is still beautiful, is anyone up for it?
well, ill be there for sure
well, ill be there for sure and ill bring some people with me. what time, the usual 630 last friday of the month, Oct. 26, is good. i guess i was thinking that if we had it earlier then there would be more traffic still congested around dowtown but then again some people get off work at 6. JJB
