Location:
Environment and Transportation Committee Meeting City Hall 4:30pm Description:
At 4:30 on Monday, Gina Barber will be putting forward a motion requesting that the City of London petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario to support Bill 154. (regulation of zoos act)This initiative by London would certainly make it easier to get the support of area MPPs and the Association of Municipalities of Ontario. Most zoos in Ontario are currently unregulated and the MNR does not cover exotic animals. Bill 154 would significantly improve the lives of captive wildlife and succeed in shutting down some of the worst zoos in Ontario. It is extremely important for us to show strong support for this motion on Monday. Please make every effort to attend this meeting
at 4:30pm.

Misplaced concern?

It's nice that the new Controller has such an apparent concern for the welfare of captive wildlife. Too bad that she can't show at least as much concern for the human beings who have to cross the dangerous intersection at Commissioners & Pond Mills every day.
