Must.... Race..... Often....

So there has been some talk of a relay race. I must say that my heart goes boom every time I think of bike racing, so I thought I'd make some propositions.

I think it was Matty who proposed a route west on Bathurst, north on Talbot, east on King, south on William.

I gotta say that this route includes quite a rocky dirt road component, and does include a lot of commercial area.

I propose a different route, which does use two one way streets.

west on Grey St, south on Waterloo, east on South St., north on William.

This area is south of Hamilton, between Wellington and Adelaide.

This keeps it completely low density residential, which is a good deal safer for hauling ass, even in the early evening.

The route is just about 2km, which is about half as long as the previous route, but that means more laps, more cheering and hopefully more riders.

Other bonuses are that Grey St. was recently paved, South St. has the Victoria Tavern, which is a good start/stop point, and the only traffic light is Colborne, which doesn't get a lot of traffic this far south.

I'll go so far as to suggest Wed, July 4th, 6pm meet for a 630 start, at the Victoria Tavern on South and Maitland. That gives us time to hash it out and talk it up over rsf and critical mass.

Teams can be randomly drawn, $5 entry per/person, winning team takes all and buys beer.

What have I left out?

This will not occur on the above date of Wed 4, but look for it in the future. I'd like to get the Roadkill collective on board in order to keep things consistent.. cheers to summer school kicking my ass.
