A New Encaustic
"Aberfoyle Springs" 60 cm x 80 cm encaustic with waterbottle plastic on board. 2007
The sale and consumption of bottled water has officially exceeded municipal tap water usage worldwide. Apart from the impact on local and regional water tables represented by large scale water-taking, the many millions of tons of waste water bottles is becoming an environmental disaster. This work, my first encaustic in almost a year presents the bottles in a different light - they become art materials!
Oppose bottled water use! Urge your councillor to restore water fountains in city parks. We cannot afford to continue the practice of purchasing bottled water. Most of it just tap water anyhow.
