Tips for Stressed Out Students

It's an incredibly stressful time of year for us academics, and i just want to share somethings that i've found really helpful in trying to get through the mountain of work ahead of me.

a) Breathing - long breath out through the mouth, short breath in through the nose, repeat.

b) Rolling your shoulders back - when our brains are spinning we tend to hunch over, all the stress collects in our upper body

c) Planting your feet on the ground - reach down through your toes and heals to get out of your upper body and roots yourself in your whole body

d) 50 minutes of work, 10 minutes of break time - this is so helpful. if we sit down and think, ok i'm not going to get up until i finish this 3000 word essay, pretty overwhelming and unsustainable. but if we sit down with only the intention of doing 50 minutes of work at a time, so much more managable and way less scary. on my 10 minute break time i like to play guitar hero and rock out. doing something that gets you moving and creative is just great.

So these are my tips, try em out and much luck and respect to all my fellow stressouts!!!

Good advice

Sounds like good advice to me...especially the part about Guitar Hero.  Though when I do that, it tends to be 10 minutes of studying for every 50 minutes of playing plastic guitar. :)

rockin

yeah it's hard to keep a really shreddin gig to just 10 minutes, so sometimes you just gotta keep rockin and rollin. which is fine, if you can remain disciplined most of the time. i love the plastic guitar, ever so much.
