Revision of London Project for a Participatory Society - Regular General Meeting - Featuring: Barbara MacQuarrie from April 27, 2008 - 9:48pm
Spring is here... finally! This is a busy time of year for some so
I will keep this brief. Our next Regular General Meeting (RGM) is this
Friday, May 2 at 6:30pm in the common room of the Mary Campbell Coop.
This RGM is important for two reasons.
1) We are electing a new Communications Coordinator which is open
to any member (new membership can take place at the meeting) in good
standing. Anthony has decided to open up the position of
Communications Coordinator. We will be holding the
election this RGM (May 2). So please come out and help us run a
democratic election for the new Communications Coordinator position.
Remember though, it is only members in good standing who will be able
to vote! I
will quote the constitution to provide any potential candidates with an
idea of what the position entails:
ensures that the web site is kept up to date, that email correspondence
is answered, and that posters and other publicity materials are
produced and distributed as needed." Part of the initial responsibility of this position will be to
write a suggested 5 point job description that will be ratified at the
subsequent RGM. Please consider running for this position. The Records,
Finance and Convening Coordinators will be submitting our proposed job
descriptions at this meeting as well. 2) The Second very exciting reason to come to our May 2 RGM, is
that Barbara MacQuarrie will be speaking for the first part of the
meeting including a period of question and answer. Barb is the
Community Director for the Centre for Research and Education on
Violence Against Women and Children at the University of Western
Ontario. Please take a few moments to read over her profile as it is
very impressive.
