men at the march.

two years ago a group of dudes gathered on the corner of wellington and dundas holding a big sign that said "men against violence against women" (i am pretty sure dan h was in there = heart). women poured out of the march thanking and huging the men that held the sign. i personally thought that was pretty awesome too. last year (and i don't know if this happened in other years) the same sign was on the corner, but moreover men were walking on the side walk along with the march. i don't exactly know what i did not like about the side walk join it, but it felt like it took away from the women's reclamation of the night and the event. i like the idea of feeling safe and taking back the street with just fellow women.  i understand that men want to express their solidarity but this march is an example of women's safety in public space

does anyone else have any thoughts on this? am i alone on this one?

standing with this year's march?

So Fellas,

Are there any plans to stand in solidarity somewhere along the parade route? Does anyone know where that banner be?

yep

I recieved a Facebook invitation from 'London Grassroots Commmunity Events,' and it says men shall meet at the same corner, wellington and Dundas at 7.

It had 18 people as 'attending' so it will be super if they all show up!

I feel similarly

I really like the sign on the corner thing,

It gives me a warm feeling, especially because so many of my favorite men are often a part of that little group. ( I love them :) )

It seems more respectful and appreciative than trying to 'join in' by marching along side.

Although I know the intentions are good.
