Friendly English Conversation

Do you enjoy meeting people? Would you like to learn about other cultures? Do you have one hour each week to give?

London Public Library is desperately in need of English speakers for its One-on-One Conversation Program. One-on-One Conversation matches you with a newcomer who is in need of a practice partner for learning English. You and your conversation partner would meet once each week, at a time and library branch of your choice, to have a friendly conversation. We provide some training to get you started, and if there is another language you want to learn, you’re welcome to trade English for practice in that language. One-on-One Conversation is a great way to make a new friend, find out about life in other parts of the world, and give someone a good start in their new home.
