Students from Huron University College are joining students around the world in support of the popular movement of Indigenous, campesino, women's, Afro-Columbian, labour and social justice activists underway in Colmbia. Mario Murillo Ayala of Mama Radio reports that the Minga Popular "has already served its purpose: the launching of a popular movement thatwill resist the "security" and economic development plans of thecurrent administration" in Colombia.

The Huron event showcases Canada's connections to this movement in a proposed Canada-Colombia Free Trade agreement, but also through the popular mobilization of Canadians in support of the Minga.

Donations at the door will be used to support the work of Tejido de Comunicacióny Relaciones Externas para la Verdad y la Vida, the communication network of ACIN in Colombia to continue its coverage of the Minga in the national and international media.
