Hear from students who risked their academic careers and physical safety to fight for a vision of the university as a place for free unfettered teaching and research, and respectful dissent and debate. Learn lessons about the rewards and costs of speaking truth to power.
Panelists include Natalie Napier and Dave Tough, members of the infamous "Trent 8" whose occupation of the administrative offices at Trentin 2001 played a defining role in the future of that institution, KristinCornell, a Western grad student currently involved in a fight to re-openAntioch College in Ohio, Trent Cruz, member of Western's Counter-Strykermovement, and the current editors of TheArthur, Trent University's radical student newspaper.
