Central Library - meet by the front doors inside galleria
The next meeting of the Disability Action Group will be taking place on December 15th at 6pm in Central Library. We will be discussing snow and transit issues, and any new issues that come up.
The meetings are open to anyone with a disability, but able bodied members can participate in specific matters with group approval. For more information contact daglondon@gmail.com
After being inspired by the previously titled Feminist Act Group (now known as FACT) I have decided to begin an action based group to help promote some much needed disability activism and awareness in London.
For now I would ask that it be for people with disabilities only. Central Library is a pretty accessible place (I think). I'm hoping this can be a great group for discussing issues, and creating disability awareness and action on our own. Come on out!!!
I'm mostly pretty much of a skeptic when it comes to things like Earth Hour and Earth Day. One-off events like these let people pretend that they're responsible, for minimum effort. But there's an initiative that I've come across related to this year's Earth Day that I think is kind of cool, and it attempts to raise the public's awareness and goad politicians into doing more without being self-indulgent.
