Bulldozing Low Income Housing- Where will the Tenants go?

The following was published in The Londoner yesterday on October 22, 2008. I have a few problems with this that I have been trying to get a hold of the Middlesex London housing Corporation to address. Nowhere in this article does it suggest where the current tenants of Boulee are going to be housed. I really hope that these people don't mind having to move, but hopefully they have somewhere they can afford to move to- it surely isn’t fair to kick low income tenants out of their homes with nowhere to go. In fact, as tax paying Canadians we should be able to assume that the same number of dwellings that are to be destroyed are going to be rebuilt, right? I will update as soon as I can get a hold of SOME one at the MLHC, no one seems to answer the phones there.

Call-out for Housing: Short term rental for family in need

hello all;

i was wondering if the community on here knows of any short term sublets, 2-4months.

i work as a community support worker and housing advocate, and am looking for a 2-bedroom for a father and child. it is for a short term because he is waiting for a spot at a housing co-operative. he is high on the waiting list, but has still been waiting for over 18 months.

it would be a few steps backward for him if he was forced to re-enter an emergency shelter.

if you know of anything pls. give a call:
