CANCELLED! Lack of Media Coverage on Woman Abuse Requires Action!

After much deliberation
with colleagues, The London Coordinating Committee to End Woman Abuse
is calling off the protest against the London Free Press on Friday May 2nd. "Since
LFP Editor Paul Berton seems to be really  listening to our concerns
and has committed to helping us with feature articles and strategy on
engaging the media we have concluded that it would be counter
productive to stage a mega demonstration in front of the Free Press
office".

You'll notice this man carries a sign reading "Remember Paul Croutch/ A homeless man/ beaten to death/ in his sleeping bag/ by military/ personnel outside of/ Moss Park Armory/ Queen and Jarvis Streets, Toronto Aug 2006."

This is in refrence to an incident in which three reservists, from the Queen's Own Rifles of Canada based out of Moss Park Armoury in Toronto, are alleged to have beaten Croutch to death. The trial of those three men began today. CBC story  read more »
