Next Wave Youth Centre and Bell Aliant present the 2008 Turkeyfest Battle of the Bands, Friday, June 20th 4-8pm @ Alexandra Park in Strathroy.

1st Prize: $300, plus featured set at Turkeyfest (June 21st) and 24 hours of recording time with Blue Room (value = $960.00)

2nd Prize: $200

3rd Prize: $100

Calling All Bike Hackers and Computer Geeks

The Chelsea Green/Glen Cairn area is home to social housing, new immigrants, etc. and too much of a problem of youth who don't have any resources to help keep them from making unhealthy life choices. Our community association is interested in the possibility of providing at least a couple of programs that might be of interest to them. The first one would provide the opportunity for them to learn how to cannibalize old, donated computers for workable parts and build working computers from that material, install/run Linux (because it's FREE), etc.  read more »
